Founded in 1986, the Housing Enterprise for the Less Privileged (HELP USA) was initially created to combat homelessness by providing transitional and permanent housing and support for those in need. The first HELP USA housing model was built in Brooklyn, New York, and now HELP USA programs can be found in 38 locations across the country.
Since its founding, the scope of HELP USA’s services has also expanded to provide assistance for people living with AIDS, housing for homeless victims of domestic violence, programs for veterans, mentoring and counseling for homeless children, and job training programs.
